Hip pain can take many forms.  One of the more common forms of hip pain involves an abnormal contact between the ball and socket joint of the hip (or the femoral head and the acetabulum).  This abnormal contact is call femoroacetabular impingement or FAI and can lead to damage to internal structures of the hip including the labrum and cartilage.  This can lead to a hip that is painful with all activities including sitting, standing, walking, and running.

You can learn more about FAI on our website here

Dr. Chin specializes in treatment of FAI and other hip disorders including labral tears, chondral injuries, hip abductor tears, trochanteric bursitis, hip instability, loose bodies, and subspine impingement using hip arthroscopy, a form of minimally invasive hip surgery.

Dr. Chin is one of three surgeons in the Houston area who are prestigious members of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy or ISHA which is the premier international society dedicated to research, education, and innovation in hip arthroscopy.
